Bed Bug Treatment Sydney
We inspect the whole room, treat where bed bugs actually hide, and come back to check.

What to expect
Preparation and the follow-up check matter as much as the treatment itself.
- We find how far it has spreadWe check the bed, the furniture around it, and the rooms either side. What we find decides the treatment, not the other way around.
- You get a short checklistWhat to wash, what to move, and what to leave exactly where it is. Getting this right is most of the reason a treatment works first time.
- We treat the places they hideShop sprays kill the bed bugs you can see and miss the eggs in the frame joints. That is why doing it yourself usually fails. We treat the harbourage, not the surface.
- We come back and look againEggs can survive a first treatment. A follow-up check confirms whether anything hatched, so you are not left wondering.
“The technician explained exactly where the issue was coming from, treated it cleanly, and gave us a prevention plan we could actually follow.”
Why they are hard to find
Bed bugs almost never stay in one room. By the time you notice bites, they are usually in the headboard, the skirting boards, and the chair in the corner. They hide in gaps as thin as a credit card. That is why we check the whole room, and the rooms next to it, before we treat anything. Sydney apartments make this harder. Shared walls and adjoining units give bed bugs somewhere to wait.
Signs of bed bugs
Bed bugs stay hidden, so you usually find the evidence before you find the insect. Check for these four.
Along the seams and under the label. They look like someone touched the fabric with a fine black pen.
Crushed bed bugs. You will find them where you sleep, not at the foot of the bed.
Pale, empty shells about the size of a rice grain, tucked into joints and screw holes.
Usually on arms, shoulders, or legs. Bites alone are not proof, because people react very differently.
How to keep bed bugs out
None of this needs a technician. Most bed bug problems arrive in luggage or second-hand furniture.
- Most bed bugs arrive with luggage or used furniture
- A torch and two minutes is all a check takes
- Caught early, it stays one room instead of three
- Cleaning does not prevent them, but clutter hides them

Keep luggage off the bed
Use the rack or the bathroom floor. Hotel beds are where most bed bugs start their trip home with you.
Hot wash after travel
Wash and dry everything on the hottest setting the fabric allows, including the clothes you never wore.
Check second-hand furniture
Look along seams, joints, and screw holes before it comes through the door. Mattresses and bed frames carry the most risk.
Use a mattress encasement
A zipped cover traps anything already inside and makes new bed bugs far easier to spot.
Check the seams monthly
Two minutes with a torch along the mattress edge and headboard. Caught early, this is a much smaller job.
Unpack away from the bedroom
The laundry or the garage is better. It keeps anything that hitched a ride out of the room that matters.

Who we treat for bed bugs
Bed bugs reach anyone. These are the places we are called to most often in Sydney.
- Bed bugs do not care how clean a place is
- In unit blocks, one flat rarely stays one flat
- Guests and residents notice bites before staff do

Homes and rentals
Houses, apartments, and share houses, where bed bugs arrive with luggage or second-hand furniture.
Hotels and short-stay
Constant guest turnover makes accommodation the highest-risk setting, and one review can cost you a season.
Strata and apartment blocks
Bed bugs travel between units along shared walls, so one flat rarely stays one flat for long.
Aged care and healthcare
Residents cannot always report bites, so regular checking matters more than it does anywhere else.
How do I know if I have bed bugs?
Look at the mattress seams, the bed frame joints, and behind the headboard. You are looking for small dark spots, rusty smears on the sheets, and pale shed skins. Bites on their own are not proof, because some people react strongly and others not at all. If you find spotting or skins, that is worth acting on.
What do bed bug bites look like?
Small raised welts, often in a line or a loose cluster, usually on skin that was uncovered while you slept. Arms, shoulders, neck, and legs are common. Reactions vary a lot. Some people come up in obvious welts, and others show nothing at all while sharing the same bed.
Do bed bugs mean my house is dirty?
No. Bed bugs feed on blood, not crumbs or mess, so cleanliness has almost nothing to do with it. They are found in spotless homes and five-star hotels. Clutter makes them harder to find and treat, but it is not what attracted them in the first place.
How do I prepare for bed bug treatment?
We send you a checklist before the visit. It usually covers washing and hot-drying bedding, reducing clutter around the bed, and moving furniture away from the walls so we can reach the edges. Do not bag things up and move them to another room, because that is how bed bugs spread.
How long does bed bug treatment take?
It depends on how many rooms are involved and which treatment suits the situation. A single bedroom is a much shorter job than a whole flat with affected lounge furniture. Your technician will tell you what to expect on the day, before any work starts.
Will one treatment get rid of bed bugs?
Often, yes, if the problem is caught early and the preparation is done properly. Eggs are the complication. They can survive a first treatment and hatch afterwards, which is why we schedule a follow-up check rather than assume it worked. Larger or long-running infestations usually need more than one visit.
Can bed bugs live in my couch or car?
Yes, though the bed is still their first choice because that is where you stay still longest. Lounges, armchairs, and car seats all have the seams and joints they like. If you have been sleeping on the couch to escape the bites, tell us, because that room needs checking too.
How did I get bed bugs?
Almost always luggage or furniture. Hotels, hostels, share houses, public transport, and second-hand mattresses or bed frames are the usual routes. In apartment blocks and terraces they can also move between units along shared walls. It is not something you did wrong.
Can I stay in the house after treatment?
In most cases yes, after a re-entry period. Your technician tells you before they leave how long to stay out and what to do about bedding, pets, and children. The exact advice depends on the products used and which rooms were treated.

Found one? Do this
Three things that make the difference between an easy job and a hard one.
Shop sprays scatter bed bugs into other rooms. That turns one problem into several and makes the treatment harder.
It sounds wrong, but moving to the couch moves the bed bugs with you. Stay put until we have been.
A clear photo of the bug or the staining helps us confirm what we are dealing with before we arrive.
